We must all admit that Television is very compelling; the average person sits in front of the television for 3 hours a day. What can we learn from this? Can we use these ideas in Web Design?

Well yes, if we take a look at the most popular soaps to large budget films they all have one thing in common. Since the beginning of mankind, we have tried to find new ways of entertaining each other, from hand painting on cave walls to an opening at the Opera. the common factor has to be people love to gossip, find out what is happening with other people and how they cop with every day life, in other words a good story. The main stories being Heroism, Suffering and Love, these have been known since the day us humans realised that we can make a quick buck from each other using these stories, and boy we will reuse them over and over again.

Television companies have to hire a whole team of specialists to give the public what they want.
This is the way the Web Design industry is moving, we are no longer looking at producing Web Sites for the sake of it.

It has become as essential as television. Web surfers just want to be carried away by a good story.

At the end of the day I am not concerned whether the Web Designers uses plain old HTML, Flash or pen, as long as I get the information I need, get what I didn't expect and get a great story in the process.
